![]() Super is one of the harder games since there isn't much chance for you to level up and the game can get quite difficult later on (the post game is absolutely brutal), but it's still a good time. ![]() It's personally my favorite of the series because it subverted my expectations of what a PMD game is supposed to be, but that's a conversation for another day. I'd personally recommend playing Explorers of Sky or Blue Rescue Team as there are some neat callbacks in Super Mystery Dungeon to past games, but Super does have a separate story from the past three games. Don't let the ages of the pokemon fool you because the game's difficulty will increase. There is the rare mission where another pokemon wants to tag along to accomplish its request. During missions, you can invite another pokemon but there are restrictions if that pokemon is of a higher level than your pokemon is. You choose what pokemon you will be as well as your best friend. I suggest accepting all requests for help by pokemon so you can call on them as your +1 your party, trying to help multiple pokemon in a dungeon, collecting gold to sell to Cofagrigus for stat increasing candies, and saving the staffs and orbs for the later dungeons to cut through walls and fight off the hordes of wild pokemon in surprise monster rooms. It differs from the main Pokemon games because one plays as a pokemon, it is turn based, the grinding is restricted to how many wild pokemon one can fight in the levels of the dungeons with a story that has set days for story dungeons and days for helping the various pokemon. It is worth buying because it is both fun and challenging.
